Silent Film Teacher Example for my Film Studies Class. Their Assignment: Make a Simple Action as Difficult as Possible in the style of a silent film. Students are assigned to write, storyboard, shoot, edit, title, and add music to their silent film, focusing on telling a story telling with no words through the use of body language and visual cues.
This film was created using iMovie, and Students will be using their phones to shoot their movies, and learning how to use iMovie to edit them. They will learn to turn their videos into black and white, add silent film filters, titles (intertitles), cut out unnecessary actions, experiment with speeding up and slowing down the film, using and editing music to influence the mood and tone of their movie, and how to write, direct, and produce their own silent film.
They will also be learning about how to use copyright free music and how to credit that music.
