The last couple of days I've been trying out the known 27-route for this level and let me tell you, it's no fun at all. I had like 40 attempts at the "5% shot" and didn't get it once, so I looked into the matter more closely and lo and behold, I found a consistent method :D
0:22 is the spot I'm talking about. In short, reversing directions or landing from a jump opens up the possibility for a 21 pixels/frame zip jump.
