Getting Started on a Cottage Food permit
In 2011 the Washington State legislature passed the cottage food operations law to ensure the continued quality for products made in a home kitchen. The law requires that a cottage food permit be obtained in order to sell low risk, non-potentially hazardous food products which are made in their home kitchen and sold directly to consumers.
