Tamron 20mm f/2.8 versus Sony 20mm f/1.8. Does the Tamron offer up a compelling value?
I know this isn't exactly a fair comparison, a $300 lens versus a $898 lens. But I thought some might find it valuable to see what compromises there are in going the cheaper route and also if the Tamron has any advantages over the Sony (Surprise! It does in 1:2 macro reproduction).
I mentioned in-camera lens corrections in the video being available for photos, but neglected to clarify that would only apply to JPGs (and video) but not Raw photos. However, software based corrections are available for Raw photos like I show in the video.
Also, some of the captions and stills go by too quick. So feel free to pause if you need to.
