Online ESL teachers who are independent don't need a website to have a business. For those teaching English to Chinese students via WeChat or other video platform however, a website can enable us to get paid from China.
Join me as I build a Wordpress website in real time, and integrate Stripe, Alipay and Wechat pay so that we can easily receive payments from Chinese parents. It will be designed to be a platform where every teacher can create a private account to use for their private business. Think of a cross between having your own teaching website and using a payment transfer service like Transferwise. Imagine having your own private profile page where your clients can read about you, see reviews left by other students, and send you money from China to your own bank account in 42 countries around the world including the U.S.A, Canada, and the U.K.
I will be designing it so that payments can be charged directly from the Chinese customer's account to the Stripe account of the teacher. The a transaction fee will be charged to the teacher per transfer, but without any automatically recurring fees like membership or subscription. This way, it will be free for any teacher to create an account, and you only pay a fee when you use it.
