Little miniature play of events in a vintage Marx Rooster Ranch House (somehow I managed to miss a shot of the rooster outside on the fireplace :)
This toy house reminded me of my childhood home in Lamar, Colorado, and I was so attracted to the style of it and the memories it evoked in me. These 1960's tin litho dollhouses were in production during my childhood, but I didn't discover them until the last few years on Ebay. The figures are small plastic Preiser figures, and these three figures in particular have very expressive possibilities. As usual, I try to suggest possible meanings with symbolism and pay attention to light, color, focus, and the design of each shot. For me (as a professional artist) these short surreal videos are pictures that move, and much care is taken to make them beautiful and as emotionally provocative as I can.
Shot with a Canon 60D, Tokina 11 -- 16 f/2.8 lens, Tokina 16 -- 50 f/2.8 lens, and a Tokina 100 f/2.8 macro lens. No slider was used...just a tripod ;)
