National Acadian Day was celebrated in Yarmouth with a Tintamarre in downtown Yarmouth and a concert at the Yarmouth airport. Thousands attended the events. The region was also in the midst of hosting the 2024 Congrès mondial acadien. This international gathering of Acadians is held every five years in different locations.
