The combination of Internet of Things (IoT), AI and edge computing can help us reimagine the way we run our businesses and find new ways to delight our customers. Edge computing enhances IoT systems by processing data closer to where it is generated, reducing latency and bandwidth use, thereby improving response times and operational efficiency. We will be looking at the near term opportunities to bring this technology into our operations, mapping data pathways, understanding the computational needs of different IoT devices, and evaluating the security implications of decentralised data processing. We will also take a look expectation for the computing paradigm in the longer term- where will we be in 5 years and how can we prepare our systems and our people to get us there?
