My Hero Academia (Japanese: 僕のヒーローアカデミア, Hepburn: Boku no Hīrō Akademia) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from July 2014 to August 2024, with its chapters collected in 41 tankōbon volumes as of August 2024. Set in a world where superpowers (called "Quirks") have become commonplace, the story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy who was born without a Quirk but still dreams of becoming a superhero himself. He is scouted by the world's greatest hero, All Might, who bestows his Quirk to Midoriya after recognizing his potential, and helps to enroll him in a prestigious high school for superheroes in training.
Izuku Midoriya (緑みどり谷や出いず久く Midoriya Izuku?), also known as Deku (デク Deku?), is the main protagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series.
Even though Izuku was born Quirkless, he manages to catch the attention of the legendary Hero All Might, due to his innate heroism and a strong sense of justice, and has since become his close pupil, as well as a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School. All Might passed on his transferable Quirk to Izuku, making him the ninth and final wielder One For All.
Tomura Shigaraki (死し柄がら木き弔とむら Shigaraki Tomura?), real name Tenko Shimura (志し村むら転てん弧こ Shimura Tenko?), is the main antagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series.
He was the leader of the League of Villains, making his first major appearance as one of the main antagonists of the U.S.J. Arc. He was raised by his master, All For One, with the goal to kill All Might, the "Symbol of Peace", and ultimately destroying the society he represents. He soon merged his organization and the Meta Liberation Army to form the Paranormal Liberation Front, becoming its Grand Commander and later inheriting the All For One
