The method used in the video is called the production technique, first create a base model using maya, max, blender, or cinema 4d, create a UV map of the model, and save the model in exr or obj format.
Then import the exr or obj file into zbrush and start adding details to the model, then you need to create a displacement map of it, then go to substance painter and make the texture, and finally apply the material to the model in cinema 4d, blender, max or maya, and render it by using texture and displacement maps.
