According to numerous long time locals many flamingos have showed up in the area after the storm. They say they’ve never seen a flamingo here until now. The consensus has been that the storm picked up the flamingos in Cuba and they rode in the eye all the way to the Keaton area. According to a local marine wildlife specialist Justin Driskell (boat driver) the flamingos won’t survive the winter here. They have to be in a tropical environment. Justin took me on his boat to get a close up view of these exotic birds. Two good soundbites in this package.
