It was produced in 1992 by the Kirov Electromachine Building Plant named after Lepse.

A stationary reel recorder with a through recording and playback path is based on the Olympus 005 C model and is intended for semiprofessional work. The device has a quartz stabilization of the speed of the tape, auto-correction of the AFC of the recording channel, adjustment of the bias current. There is a complete auto-reverse, a luminescent indication of the recording level, an electronic tape counter.
By the name of Lepse simultaneously produced both Olympus 701 and Olympus 702 models which differed from the base tape recorder of the attachment by a two-track recording (recording and playback across the entire width of the magnetic tape), respectively, with other magnetic heads and inscriptions.
