Welcome to the Nursing World Shared Practice Forum. I'm Marcie Brostoff, Director of Clinical Education and Informatics and Chief Nurse Informatics Officer at Boston Children's Hospital. I am privileged today to introduce Doctor Fenella Gill from Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, Lecturer and Researcher at Curtin University. Doctor Gill, please tell us about yourself. Thank you, Marcie. I'll just add that that's in Australia. I work in Western Australia. My background, though, is that I trained in the UK. I did nursing education training in the hospital and then moved to Australia in the 1980s and have worked in Australia the last 25 years, predominantly in pediatric critical care but initially as a clinician, and then worked in education, and then developed a post graduate program in education in pediatric critical care. And that really developed my interest in the standards for graduates of courses. So in critical care because there really was not a consistent outcome with the standards. So that was really the impetus for when I did explore a PhD topic that really became a natural topic for me to work on.
