Axe Myth, Grip and Control, Thin v.s. Thick, Tradition v.s. Modern
A common comment or criticism is that someone needs a thick handle for control or grip on an axe. The historical record regarding professional users, many other experienced users and old axes, do not support this idea. I think it often indicates a misunderstanding regarding axe use and a lack of experience using thinner handled axes.
