Recovering From A Freak Accident | Jack Smiley's Incredible Story!
1st Phorm Athlete Jack Smiley is an NCAA Division III ice hockey player for
Endicott College. In a hockey induced accident, Jack had a stroke that paralyzed his entire right side of his body, taking him out of hockey and being told that he could never return to the ice.
Jack says, "Always be grateful for what you have. I was riding high, I thought I had life by the reins, and it ended up throwing me on a path that I was never prepared for at all. Physical tasks that I'd worked my entire life to be able to do and be able to accomplish. A few moments later, in a hospital bed, not being able to move my right side."
Through extensive rehabilitation and perseverance, Jack has proved that he can get back on the ice and return to the sport he loves.
