Laurent Richard, founder and executive director of Forbidden Stories, gives his advice for conducting a cross-border investigation, explains the decisive role that GIJN plays for an organization like Forbidden Stories, highlights the importance of teaching investigative and collaborative journalism and warns of the risk of burnout which threatens journalists working on international cross-border investigations.

The Global Investigative Journalism Network is an international association of journalism organizations that support the training and sharing of information among investigative and data journalists—with special attention to those from repressive regimes and marginalized communities.
