The Apollo Program | Behind the Wings at NASA
Fifty-eight years ago, on May 25th, 1961 President John F. Kennedy made the declaration to Congress that we will "...land a man on the Moon and return him safely to the Earth". President Kennedy's speech set the stage for America's support of the Apollo program and culminated in Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin becoming the first humans to set foot on the Moon in 1969.
Join curator Matthew Burchette as he visits the childhood home of Neil Armstrong, uncovers some rare and amazing Apollo artifacts, and explores the future of space exploration at NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
