iClone 8.4 Tutorial - Run cycles on Paths
In this video you'll learn how to blend motion capture clips with a run cycle in @reallusion iClone 8.4 We're using the Amber character from the La Familia Pack. First we're going to add the first motion capture clip. In the timeline we'll continue by adding a run cycle that we blend with the first motion capture clip, aligning one of the planted feet. Then we add a second run cycles, but on this one we reset the pivot making the character run in place. In the timeline, when the second run cycle motion clip starts we'll parent the character to a sphere. This sphere is connected to a custom made spline using the path setting in Modify.

After we've matched the speed of the sphere's transform with the length of the spline, we simply do the reverse by adding a new run cycle after the spline has finished, then we add the second motion capture clip which we'll blend with the previous (3rd) run cycle motion clip. Remember to disconnect the character from the sphere once it's finished the spline.
To refine the results you flatten the animation tracks with the constraints and play around with the Motion Correction tool and the Edit Motion Layer to make the movement less like a cycle and more organic and real.
