About this video: In this video, we show you how to get Fabric Mods for Minecraft on Mac. What are Fabric Mods? Well, they are mods made for the Fabric Mod Loader. This is a Minecraft Mod Loaders that is complete MacOS compatible, and hosts some pretty awesome mods from Minimap mods to inventory mods to biome mods, there are thousands for incredible Fabric mods and they all work perfectly on MacOS.
The first step of getting Fabric Mods on MacOS is downloading and install the Fabric Mod Loader for MacOS. You can find a link in the description above to download Fabric. That will take you to the page where you can click ‘Download Installer’ The Fabric Mod Loader for Mac will then start downloading. You may need to keep, save, or allow the file depending on your browser.
With Fabric downloaded, we can move on to how to install Fabric for Mac. This is pretty simple. Just double click on the Fabric file you downloaded. You will then need to go to system preferences, security, general, and click open anyway at the bottom. Then, confirm you want to open Fabric again. The Fabric installer will then open. If you get a Java error, download and install Java 17 on your Mac from the link above. In the Fabric installer, click ‘Install’, and in the Fabric mod loader will install!
Now, you can download Fabric mods. You can find some Fabric Mods in the description above, but all Fabric mods will work on Mac. After you have your mods downloaded, open the Minecraft Launcher, in the launcher, click ‘Installations’. Then, hover over latest release and click the folder icon. The Minecraft folder will open. In this folder, you will have a mods folder. If you don’t create one! Then, drag-and-drop your Fabric mods for Mac into this mods folder.
You have now installed your Mac Fabric mods, but to play them, go back to the Minecraft launcher, click the arrow next to the Play button, select Fabric, and click Play. Confirm you are playing modded Minecraft by clicking ‘Play’ again. Minecraft for Mac will now open up with Fabric mods installed!
