In this video I wanted to show the most useful Linux commands from the Basis administrator's point of view. It is obvious that the knowledge is very general, so in fact anyone who wants to learn can use this without having anything to do with SAP. My goal was to transfer the knowledge in a way that would interest not only complete novices, but so that everyone could find at least one interesting fact for themselves.
I'm curious what commands you would put on the list. Give your favorites in the comments, then maybe I'll make a material about them too someday.
Table of contents:
0:46 - obtaining knowledge with the man command, to avoid asking... (man)
2:28 - tracking logs and extracting information via tail (tail)
5:02 - what kind of animal is a network cat? (nc)
8:06 - we used to use tape, but tar is still useful without it (tar)
11:39 - a little about linking, and maybe more about the nature of files (ln)
16:50 - text editor for the wizard (vi)
18:58 - about the jobs market it is not, but about tasks (jobs)
20:41 - at a certain time (at)
22:11 - extremely simple connection monitoring (netstat)
24:23 - a few words about tracking packages (tcpdump)
