TO SET UP ALIEN ISOLATION VR - This worked for me for troubleshooting check the issues tab on the mod page.
Install the Steam version of Alien Isolation
Download the MotherVR Mod

Drag the dxgi.dll file from the MotherVR folder into your Alien Isolation install folder where AI.exe is located. (:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Alien Isolation)
On Steam go to Alien Isolation - Settings - General, then add "-steamvr" to launch options.
Launch Steam VR and then Launch Alien Isolation
The first time you launch it will be in flat screen but you will have a MotherVR menu in your "Options", click it and then set VR Runtime to "Use Steam VR"
Relaunch the game and it is now in VR.
To turn off VR change the launch option to "-novr"
I had an issue where my VR controllers needed to be on whether I used them or not for my 360 gamepad to function properly.
