Why I chose real estate after leaving active duty Marine Corps!

I often get asked by friends and clients why I chose a career in real estate. There are two main reasons:

1. My interest in real estate was sparked by a challenging experience I had while serving as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. I needed to buy a home without seeing it first due to a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move from MCAS Yuma to MCB Quantico, Virginia. One incident in particular encapsulates the ordeal: On closing day, I met the agent for the first time since I was buying the home “sight unseen”. Her first action was to check her commission on the closing statement and, finding it satisfactory, she simply said, “looks good.” This encounter left me frustrated and curious if this lack of professionalism was common among all agents, especially concerning other service members making such significant life investments.
2. Around the same time, I became interested in real estate investing. The concept of leveraging money to build wealth was fascinating to me. I resolved that if I ever left the Marine Corps, I would become a real estate agent to dive deep into the industry.

As a real estate agent now, my goal is to ensure that military families and veterans receive the outstanding service and honest advice they deserve. I am also passionate about educating those interested in building wealth through real estate.
