There's a fascinating connection between Beyoncé, Jay Z, and the Japanese art of Kintsugi (also known as Kintsukuroi). I'm a huge fan of all three, so this video was a fun passion project that I wanted to share! On the most basic level, Kintsugi is the Japanese philosophy of embracing flaws. A while back I was listening to Jay-Z’s last album (4:44) and in a song dedicated to Beyonce, he mentions Kintsukuroi.

Kintsugi is a centuries-old technique of repairing broken pottery with gold, but there’s a much deeper philosophy behind it. The philosophy is definitely worth diving into out if you’re struggling to find some solace with your past, or stability in your present. Kintsugi has also been an influence on some of pop culture’s biggest icons. Check out this quick video and get started on your path to uncovering the beauty of imperfection. 💛🇯🇵

P.S. – The end part where I turned the guy to gold is admittedly pretty cheesy, but the message still holds up! Hope you like the video and find meaning in it ;)
