Operations Group Roanoke is a realism based Arma 3 military Simulation unit. Our roots are based in a relaxed community structure out of game but a realistic, extremely serious and mature play style in game. We accomplish this by treating OGR as a welcome-to-all gaming community where members can join and play a wide variety of games with their friends, while leaning heavily on our veteran ran community to simulate real military tactics, techniques, and procedures. If you are a participating member of OGR you are expected to maintain a 18+ maturity level and remain fully immersed in your role during detachment operations. At it's core OGR is a US military Special Operations Task Force which portrays elements from all Department of Defense Branches. The elements include units from AFSOC, 75th RR, JSOAC, UKSF 22nd SAS, 5th SFG and ISA. The Task Force spans across three days and has various "off-night" events in between detachment operations. AIR FORCE SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND, 724TH SPECIAL TACTICS GROUP, 24TH AND 17TH SPECIAL TACTICS SQUADRONS(All element days)
Detachment one is a combined effort between the 24th STS and 17th STS to support the units Tier one and two forces. They are comprised of the units Combat Controllers and Tactical Air Control Party airmen who are experts in air to ground integration methods. The CCTs and TACPs operate as the unit's primary FACs(Forward Air Controller) and perform tactical aircraft control, stack coordination, and act as the liaison between air and Task Force ground commanders. In addition to forward air controllers, the STG is home to the units Pararescue Specialists(PJ) who are responsible for personnel recovery, medical readiness, and MEDEVAC/CASEVAC procedures.
22ND SPECIAL AIR SERVICE REGIMENT, ALPHA SQUADRON, 2ND AIR TROOP (Friday 1500 EST)
The 22nd SAS specializes in a number of roles including counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, direct action and covert reconnaissance. The SAS is the premier special forces contingent of the United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF). Focusing on small unit tactics the SAS Patrols operate independently and often without external support in order to accomplish a wide array of covert mission sets. Within the Task Force the SAS works closely along side inorganic intel assets, JSOAC, and the 24th STS.
1ST PLT, BRAVO COMPANY, 1ST BN, 75TH RANGER REGIMENT (Saturday 1800 EST)
The 75th Ranger Regiment is a lethal, agile and flexible force, capable of executing a myriad of complex, joint special operations missions in support of U.S. policy, objectives, and is the Army's premier Raid Force. Ranger Regiment's capabilities include conducting airborne and air assault operations, seizing key terrain such as airfields, destroying strategic facilities, and capturing or killing enemies of the nation. Rangers are capable of conducting squad through regimental-size operations and are resourced to maintain exceptional proficiency, experience and readiness.
JOINT SPECIAL OPERATIONS AIR COMPONENT (All element days)
Joint Special Operations Air Component “Warlord” is made up of two special aviation units from two different branches of the military; the US Army and the US Airforce. The 160th SOAR(A) provides rotary-winged aviation support and is recognized for their proficiency in operating in the toughest conditions. The 1st SOG is comprised of several fixed-winged and tilt-rotor aircraft such as the CV-22, AC-130J, or the MQ-9 Reaper. The component as a whole provides unparallel precision of direct support to the Task Force in a special operations theater with conventional air operations such as for mobility, fires, ISR, and the integration of such activities with all elements.
5TH SPECIAL FORCES GROUP, 1ST BATTALION, ALPHA COMPANY (Sunday 2100 EST)
5th Special Forces Group, 1st Battalion, Alpha Company currently consists of two ODAs, ODA 5111 and 5112. Green Berets and all modern Army Special Forces can trace their origins back to 1952 when the 10th SFG was formed. Soldiers, after passing training, that are selected into an ODA can expect to be placed in a team-driven atmosphere that specializes in unconventional warfare, security force assistance, direct action raids, and counter-insurgency operations. Alpha Company works closely with AFSOC and directly supports Bravo Company Rangers.
