Hello and welcome to another video.

In this video I show you how to add a WordPress 404 redirect page. So what is a 404 redirect page you might ask.

Well quite simply, it is a page that a visitor gets to if they click on a broken link or type in a url for your site that doesn’t exist. A 404 redirect page gives the reader a brief message explaining that the page doesn’t exist and gives them the opportunity to get back to somewhere useful to them but still on your site.

When I create a 404 page, I provide a link for my reader to click on, which usually takes them to the site's homepage. It of course doesn't have to go to the home page - but you can decide that - and make the redirect go to wherever you want.

If you haven't yet got a 404 page for your site, it is definitely worth creating one. It is a simple and quick process to carry out. In the video, I show you how to go about it.

In the video, I use the "404page - your smart custom 404 error page" plugin to help with this.
