The STM32 Microphone Audio Acquisition video series is intended to provide information, suggestions and practical solutions for interfacing with PDM digital MEMS microphones using STM32 microcontrollers.
Starting from the general concepts and parameters about microphones, you can learn about the main aspects of the PDM format and how it must be handled and processed.
We will focus on the STM32 interfaces suitable for PDM acquisition, the pros and cons of each of them, how to connect microphones to the STM32, how to perform filtering, decimation, and everything else necessary to get started with the acquisition of one or more PDM microphones using STM32.
We will also show you where to find relevant information about the products, such as datasheets, reference manuals, app notes, user’s manuals, etc, as well as the necessary tools to start developing a microphone application based on STM32 microcontrollers.
In this first video, let’s get started with the basic principles on which microphones are based, as well as a comparison between several microphone types, including MEMS (both analog and digital) and ECM. Then, we learn about several microphones families and their typical applications.
