Checking out the Big Features on Manhandler | Eagle Mountain, BC
This one has been on my bucket list for a few years now. When James and I first got back into riding in 2021 this was one of our first trail days back on the bike. We rode this trail and gawked at all the big features we hoped to one day conquer. A few years have passed and although my skills and confidence have improved drastically since the last time I rode here I still had some little voice in the back of my head telling me that these features were still a little too big.
In retrospect, I am very happy that I was able to accomplish the features that I did, but I wish I took a stab at the big wooden roll at the beginning of the trail. Oh well, that's what next time is for I guess!
Hopefully, you enjoy this video. It is a little bit different than our usually style. I wanted to portray a little bit more of the mental game and the thought process that goes into riding and conquering some of the bigger features. It's really hard to truly illustrate the scale of some of these features, and I am afraid the "GoPro Effect" is always a real struggle, but I assure you, everything is bigger and steeper in real life than it looks on the video haha.
