Easiest way to write an EDM melody for beginners
How to make a melody, by far the easiest way!
I talk about what makes a great melody and how you can create one yourself using Studio One.
There are a couple of ways to write a melody.
1) you can start with the melody and then put chords and drums under it.
The downside to this method is, is that it takes some time as a beginner to figure out which chords.
2) you can start with the chords, then put a melody over it based on the chord progression. And add the drum later
3) you start with the drum pattern and then do one of the two above.
Your chords and melody have to be in the same key, otherwise it sounds ugly
• hum a melody
• drag and drop notes
melody consists of pitch and rythm.
If you have trouble getting a good rhythm, break up the chords
Repetition but with a variation
Ninja tips:
• don’t space the notes too far apart
• long and short nots
• tension, last chord need to resolved in the first
• velocity
