Bible Library Haul 96% Off - Tanakh: The Holy Scriptures (1985) - Jewish Publication Society
The JPS Tanakh provides a more Jewish reading of the Bible and the 1917 version was based on the Christian translation called the American Standard Version. However, the 1985 JPS Tanakh started from scratch using a team of Jewish scholars representing the Orthodox, Conservative, and Reform branches of Judaism.
No doubt serious Bible study leads to a reverse interlinear of the original Hebrew and Greek, however, for everyday reading most people have a go-to translation. My goto translation is the KJV and I am exploring the NLT for its VERY modern and sometimes interesting and dynamic, phrase-by-phrase treatments.
