Walborg Fair Eve, last April or colloquially Walborg, Finnish-Swedish coat of arms, is an annual holiday celebrated in Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Germany and Åland on 30 April or 1 May. The tradition is based on the pre-Christian holiday that has long been celebrated in Germany, but which has later come to be named after the cult surrounding the holy Valborg. Walpurgis Fair Eve corresponds to the pre-Christian Beltaine among the Celts and Victory Day in the pre-Christian Nordic countries.
