Step 1. Install Latest GPU Driver.

Step 2. Install Wine.

Step 3. Install Lutris.

Lutris has now removed the option to install from the PPA, so instead download the latest deb file from the Github releases page.

Step 4. Install Steam & Enable Proton.

Install Steam through the Software Manager, and log into your account once installed.

Navigate to Settings / Steam Play / Advanced, tick the Enable Steam Play for all other titles, click OK and restart Steam to apply.

You can also enable Shader Pre-Caching and Allow background processing of Vulkan shaders to improve performance when using Proton which is found at Settings / Shader Pre-Caching.

Step 5. Install & Enable Feral Gamemode.

https://github.com/FeralInteractive/g...

To enable Gamemode for a game in Steam, right click on a game’s properties, navigate to Set Launch Options and type the following:

gamemoderun %command%

Then click Close, and finally OK.

Alternatively for Lutris, enable the Gamemode toggle, found at System preferences / System options / Enable Feral GameMode.
