If you've spent any time watching our Dancelord TV livestreams since 2019, you know that the numbers in the show have their own internal nicknames -- but did you know that individual parts of each number also have nicknames? One of the best examples is featured here in this video: "Four Lads", from the show's title number, Lord of the Dance.
And now, for the first time ever, you get to see it from the dancer's perspective, filmed onstage as it was performed by Mick McHugh during the #FeetOfFlames Impossible Tour in Taiwan last month.
Mick is the team's resident prankster. If someone's getting pranked backstage, you can be reasonably certain Mick is behind it. Thus it's always fun putting the #GoPro on him for onstage footage, because you're just never quite sure what level of subliminal chaos he's going to unleash.
Can you name every single performer in this video? By now you should be able to. The eagle-eyed will notice that two of the four lads (at stage left) change, and that's because the onstage #GoPro footage was filmed on a different day. (You might also notice "Pops" Connor Smyth sneaking a peek at Mick's camera at one point!)
Our hope is that seeing these onstage camera angles gives you a good sense of what it's like to be an #IrishDance pro on that stage. #LordOfTheDance is fun, and that fun is genuine.
