** Video Description **
In this Scratch 3 basics tutorial, we look and list all the different types of event blocks in Scratch programming. We’ll unpack each event block to understand what it does. Essentially, most blocks in the event category are hat blocks, which means that they start a sequence of instructions. Events also enable us to talk between sprites. The way we describe communication between sprites is called event-based programming. We broadcast (or send) messages to whoever is listening. We can use the idea of a walkie talkie to understand this concept. Someone can talk into a walkie talkie on a frequency. That’s cool, but if there isn’t anybody listening on the same frequency then nobody will hear the message. Many people can tune into the same frequency to hear the message. Once we hear the message, we can respond to it.
