Welcome to the first episode of our multi-part series on Physical Computing! I’ll guide you through a learning journey from beginner to advanced concepts, leading up to a big final project—which is still a secret, so stick around to find out!
In this video, we’re starting with the absolute basics—the ‘Hello World’ of physical computing—by learning how to blink an LED!

NOTE:
If you notice that my circuit is different from what's shown on the Arduino website, you are correct! I accidentally placed the resistor a bit differently, but its location can go on either side of the LED. The purpose of a resistor is to limit current, so it works effectively whether it's before or after the LED. However, the LED’s orientation matters—the anode (longer leg) should connect to the positive side or pin 13 in our case, and the cathode (shorter leg) should connect to ground.
