Has your child already dialed in their English bunny hop? Then it's time to cross the Atlantic and jump even higher!
When practicing tricks with kids? Watch and copy! Learning by doing is the best way here, so go easy on parental input. It's no secret that kids learn from watching others.

👣 Quick step-by-step guide for your child
1. Pick an easy gear and get the pedals level.
2. Begin by trying to lift the front wheel on its own. To do this, get your arms in a press-up position then forcefully straighten them to lift the front wheel off the ground.
3. The next step involves lifting the rear wheel. To do this, get low over the bike and put pressure on the rear pedal, then kick and scoop up.
4. To put both steps together, you put the two movements together into one smooth action to get some air and clear the obstacle.

🦺 Safety first!
1. Just like on any regular bike ride, thinking about protection is a must when practicing tricks. Wearing gloves is very sensible and having a properly-fitting helmet is vital. To be extra safe, knee and elbow protectors are a good idea.
2. Give your child's bike a safety check before every ride. Think: bolts – brakes – air!
Are all the bolts and, where applicable, quick-releases done up tightly?
Check the brakes by pulling on both brake levers in turn to see if you can feel resistance. Does the wheel stop spinning?
Check the tires and wheels are in good condition and don't have anything stuck to them. If air is needed, pump them up.

🌳 🚲 Practical guidelines
1. Pick a location where you can practice safely that's free of traffic and other dangers. A very moderate incline will be beneficial at first. Some natural uphill resistance will make it easier.
2. Have a slightly lowered saddle. In the case of most kids, the saddle is usually fairly low, so it may not need changing.
3. Get your child to start in an easy gear – 2nd or 3rd would be best so that they don't have to push down too hard on the pedals.

💨 How fast should your child be riding?
The speed can vary. It's easier to get the front wheel up if your child is starting from a slower speed. However, keeping their balance will be easier at a higher speed.
