Transformation from Raw to Polished - XL Rainbow Obsidian 🌈
In this video, we highlight the process of transforming a raw chunk of Rainbow Obsidian to a polished work of art. Artisans carve dips and curves into the stone following the colorful layers. The final result highlights the hidden colors within the stone while giving it an organic and flowing shape.
This is the largest, high quality Rainbow Obsidian that we have ever seen and polishing this stone took a lot of work. Starting with a weight of 53 lb and ending with 37.5 lb, the Obsidian lost a total of 15.5 lb to come to the final polished form.
Rainbow Obisidian is a natural volcanic glass that contains micro inclusions within the layers. When under direct, bright light these inclusions refract light and create a rainbow of colors.
