How to Setup Apogee MiC 96k with Cubase on Windows PC

This is a tutorial on how to set up the MiC 96k with Cubase.

For this tutorial, you will need to download and install:
the Asio4All driver from www.asio4all.com

1. Open your search browser and search: www.asio4all.com
2. Then click on the install link for the latest Asio4All driver in your preferred language
3. Wait for Asio4All to finish downloading
4. Allow Asio4All permission to make changes on your device, then follow the setup wizard to finish the install process

Once Asio4All is downloaded…

1. Open Cubase and go to the menu: Devices - Device Setup
2. Select VST Audio system on the left column, then choose, ASIO4ALLv2 from the ASIO Driver drop down
3. On the left column, select ASIO4ALL v2 then click Control Panel to open the ASIO4ALL setup window
4. Click the ADVANCED button (wrench icon) and Enable both MiC 96k and your output device
5. Adjust the ASIO Buffer size: ­ Start with 128 samples
6. Close the ASIO4ALL Driver Window, then click OK to close the Device Setup window.
7. Now go to the Devices - VST Connections menu.
8. In the INPUTS tab, right­ click the stereo bus and click Remove Bus.
9. Click the Add Bus button and choose 1, mono, then Add Bus. You now have a single input bus! Close the VST Connections Menu
10. Go to Project - Project Setup.
11. Set the Sample Rate to the same value you had set the MiC and computer’s built­in output to in the Manage Audio Devices section
12. Set Bit Resolution to 24­bit. Click OK to close the Project Setup Window.
13. Go to Project - Add Track - Audio
14. Choose a mono track configuration.
15. Make sure the Input is set to Mono In, then enable the record button. If you want to monitor as you record, enable the Monitor button as well.
16. You are now ready to record! Hit the master record button!
