Here's how you can create polygons in Adobe Illustrator. When you use the polygon tool and you create a polygon, you instantly create a hexagon (six-sided regular polygon) which is set as default.
Increase the number of sides so that you can create more polygon with the same number of sides: equilateral triangle, with three sides; square, with four sides; pentagon, with five sides; octagon, with eight sides; and so on.
It's really easy to make and it will do so well for your flat designs too.
