The Al Muwahidun were the dynasty of AlAndalus at the time of the Crusades. In fact Iberia could be seen as the second theatre of the crusades, with the Middle East being the first. But was this a straight forward Christian versus Muslim conflict, or were the lines more blurred than that ?
This episode explores the rise of the Al Muwahidun, how they consolidated their lands, the people they fought with and against and their eventual decline
During this time period was a battle which effectively secured the fate of “Spain” and represented a major turning point in the history of that peninsula.
