Sony Digital 8 Camcorder Tapes (& Players) are slowly dying a death. Sony introduced the format in 1999 and discontinued in 2007. The last few years I have seen a sharp increase in the problems with pixelation, choppy picture and audio, picture loss, blue screen. The video tapes are degrading over time clogging the video heads & also wearing them out. 22 Years of digitizing tapes, it's the number one format for problems as of making this video in 2024. The only thing one can do is keep the heads clean, stopping the capture every 10 mins, ejecting the tape & inserting a head cleaning tape for 10 seconds and continuing the capture and repeat.
