A: Oh, look. I didn’t know they had Farriers here. They must’ve opened recently.
B: Farriers?
A: Yeah. You’ve never heard of them?
B: I don’t think so.
A: Well, their popularity isn’t what it used to be, for sure. But, they were huge just a few years back.
B: Is that right?
A: Oh yeah. They were all the rage when they came out with their first line of products. And not just among shoe enthusiasts like me.
B: I’m guessing social media played a part there.
A: Oh, you got that right.
B: No wonder I’ve never heard of them.
A: Oh, of course. You don’t use social media. It’s crazy how things can blow up like that overnight. But you know what, that’s not to say that it’s all a gimmick. They do make decent products.
B: I suppose they didn’t gain all the attention for nothing, but am I missing something here? Because I don’t see it.
A: Well, like I said, they’re not quite what they used to be, especially after they were acquired by another company. You know how it is.
B: I see. So, what was it that set them apart?
A: Several things, but for the most part, design and comfort. I mean, after all they’re shoes, right? Oh, and they have a line of products that are modular. You can have several different soles and switch them out depending on what you’re doing. So, like, one for running, one for driving, and so on and so forth. You get the idea.
B: (disapproving look)
A: What?
B: I know a gimmick when I see one.
A: Look, just try on a pair and then make fun of them, OK?
