During the Women's Reservation Bill debate in the Lok Sabha, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule shared a memory of discriminatory remarks made by a former Chief of Maharashtra's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Addressing fellow House members, Sule responded to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's accusations against the Opposition INDIA bloc, alleging that they supported those who belittled and disparaged women. Sule recounted, "In Maharashtra, there was a BJP chief who, on the record, suggested that I should go home and cook. Sule mentioned that the Chief of Maharashtra's BJP had remarked to her, "Supriya Sule ghar jaao,.. khana banao..... desh koi aur chala lega. Hum log chalayenge".
