The Layered Architecture (sometimes called the n-tiered architecture) has been around for almost 6 decades. Some say it’s obsolete, but I don’t agree. In this lesson I describe the layered architecture, talk about its strengths and weaknesses, and then explain when you should use it, and when you should avoid using it.
