In this tutorial, you will learn how to find and remove duplicates in Excel.

Method 1: Finding Duplicates

Select the cells you want to examine for duplicates. From the "Home" tab, click on "Conditional Formatting". From the drop-down menu that appears, point on "Highlight Cells Rules" and then select "Duplicate Values". This will open the "Duplicate Values" dialog box. Select "Duplicate" from the drop-down menu on the left. Choose your highlight color from the drop-down menu on the right side. Click OK.

Method 2: Removing Duplicates

Select the cells that have duplicate values you want to remove. Click on the "Data" tab and then select "Remove Duplicates" in the "Data Tools" group. This will open the "Remove Duplicates" dialog box. Click OK. Now, suppose you don’t want to remove duplicates from all the columns, then click on a column letter. Click on the “Remove Duplicates” button. This will open the “Remove Duplicates Warning” dialog box. Select the “Continue with the current selection” option. Click on the “Remove Duplicates” button. This will open another dialog box and click OK. To remove the highlight formatting, click on "Conditional Formatting", select "Clear Rules" and then "Clear Rules from Entire Sheet".
That’s all!
