Tonight we take the Bulldog for a spin in Scotland.
We embark on a Scottish adventure that echoes the past of a true Scottish hero.
We start at Glasgow Prestwick EGPK. We take to the skies in the Scottish Aviation Bulldog. Prestwick is famous for its history; even Elvis Presley landed here once, and if it’s good enough for The King, it's good enough for us.
We overfly Glasgow International EGPF over the River Clyde as we dodge the clouds and feel the grit of the Scottish air. As we approach, Glasgow’s skyline will start to emerge.
Our first stop will take us all the way up to Inverness EGPE. This is where things get properly scenic. We fly over the Highlands, the very soul of Scotland. Rugged mountains, deep lochs, and maybe even a glimpse of Nessie if you're lucky! Inverness itself, nestled along the River Ness, is a gem and the small airport there offers a beautiful approach.
Finally, we head for Edinburgh EGPH. We will be skimming the Firth of Forth, with views of the iconic bridges and Edinburgh Castle standing guard over the city. It’s a fitting end to a journey that celebrates the spirit of Scotland, its scenery and its aviation!
Route: EGPK - EGPF - EGPE* - EGPH* ( * = full stop landings)
Aircraft: Scottish Bulldog or anything vintage with a cruise speed about about 140kts
