New Orleans Weather: Severe storms possible Friday
Meteorologist Payton Malone says the chance of severe storms is strongest on the northshore but the south shore could get hit as well.
Friday will bring the risk for strong storms. Timing of these storms will be mostly in the afternoon. The risk for severe weather is slightly higher north of the lake, but the southshore does have a risk for strong storms. The risks include isolated tornadoes, strong winds and large hail. Flooding is also a potential, again, mainly North, but we cannot rule out the metro area at this time. Storms should be moving out by Friday night.
