jquery delay method allows us to delay the execution of functions that follow it in the queue. It can be used with the standard effects queue or with a custom queue.
Syntax :
$(selector).delay(speed,queueName)
speed : means the delay we want to introduce.
queueName : optional and defaults to fx.
Example :
$( "div.custom" ).slideUp( 500 ).delay( 1000 ).fadeIn( 200 );
