OpenWRT - Beryl GL-MT1300 Performance Test (NAT, Hardware Offloading, Wireguard & OpenVPN)

In this video, we will do some tests with the Beryl GL-MT1300 router to see the performance when it comes to NAT, Hardware Flow Offloading and Wireless. At the same time, OpenVPN & Wireguard VPN client will be configured on the router and let's check the CPU usage and speed when running the tests.

The tests were done with OpenWRT firmware from GL.iNET with default setting (except for the hardware flow offloading feature).
As expected, the OpenVPN throughput is around 16 Mbps and Wireguard VPN throughput is around 100 Mbps. The normal WAN to LAN throughput with the WAN port configured in DHCP mode is around 450 Mbps. With Hardware Flow Offloading enabled, the speed reach 875 Mbps with the CPU at 94% idle.
