If you're a #JavaScript #developer, you might not realize just how much Microsoft owns your entire toolchain. You probably know that Microsoft owns the most popular IDE, Visual Studio Code. But they also bought the service you push that code to: #GitHub. Does CoPilot "assist" you? That's also GitHub...again, Microsoft. When you use npm to install #TypeScript? Well Microsoft bought npm and created TypeScript. Do you test your app with Playwright? (I mean, you don't ship bugs, so you don't need to test) But still, they own that, too. And that's not even mentioning the other part of #webdevelopment that is .NET, Azure, and all that other stuff. Yes AWS has a stranglehold on hosting, But Microsoft has bought up the rest of the developer workflow. I just hope that when they start charging for all of this, it's bundled along with Xbox Gamepass.#coding #webdev
