As we’re nearing the end of the astrological time of Taurus, we’re doing a collaborative religion discussion on the use of bulls and cows in religious myth. Like the snake, the use of the cow and bull can be found in a variety of ancient and modern traditions.
We find many creation stories making the cow the primordial progenitor of creation and in other instances we find the controversy surrounding the “golden calf” in the Bible. What meanings can we derive from ancient traditions in the way of explaining this trope? And what does this have to say about the Spanish bullfighting tradition?
